P5 Glossary of Key Nuclear Terms

The five Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) nuclear weapon states, or “P5”, established a dedicated Working Group in 2011 to work on a Glossary of Key Nuclear Terms. Since then, under the leadership of the People’s Republic of China and the joint efforts of all P5 members, three meetings of the Working Group have been successfully held in Beijing on 27-28 September 2012, 26-27 September 2013 and 10-11 September 2014, and exchanges among P5 experts have been carried out regularly. Following the step-by-step approach and the principle of consensus, the Working Group has developed this Glossary.
