Graduate of the first international MA program in WMD Nonproliferation which brought together leading Russian and US institutes – Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MGIMO-University) and Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) at Monterey, the United States (2016-2018). Previously worked for the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Directorate General for the United Nations (2007-2016). Advisor for the Mexican Delegation that participated in the First Committee of the UN General Assembly in its 63rd session in New York (2008). He started his career at Mexican MFA as Analyst for Nuclear Disarmament and Nonproliferation Division of the Directorate General for the United Nations (2009-2011), Senior Analyst for Nuclear Disarmament and Nonproliferation Division (2011-2012), Head of the Department of International Security Division (2012-2015) and Deputy Director of International Security Division (2015-2016). His areas of expertise include: nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation, historical aspects of nuclear nonproliferation, strategic trade and export controls, multilateral diplomacy. Alain speaks Spanish, English, French, Italian and understands basic Russian.
