MOSCOW, 19 OCTOBER 2009. PIR PRESS- “Our agreement with the leading international publisher – Routledge – will bring the activities of the PIR Center to new global heights and will help to promote the Russian expertise on international security issues,” PIR Center Vice President, Editor of the International Edition of the Security Index Journal Dmitry Polikanov.

In September this year the PIR Center signed a contract with the global leader in publishing books and journals on international relations and other social sciences – Routledge, a member of the Taylor & Francis group. Among its internationally recognized editions are The Nonproliferation Review, The Washington Quarterly, and Survival.

According to the agreement, the Security Index journal will now be published in English in the United Kingdom and distributed worldwide with the help of Routledge professionals. The PIR Center will still be in charge of the editorial policy aiming at making Security Index the leading journal from Russia and on Russia, as far as foreign policy and security matters are concerned.

This is the first experience for Routledge, as there have been no Russian journals published by this renowned group and this should help Security Index to occupy the unique niche and become available to a broader audience of government officials, diplomats, expert and academic communities.

Both parties intend to invest a lot in this fruitful and promising cooperation. The agreement contributes to the PIR Center efforts to become the platform for promoting Russian expertise on international security matters and to give a new impetus to studies of the Russian foreign and security policy outside the country.

Detailed information concerning the publication of Security Index as well as advertising in the journal is available from Editor Dmitry Polikanov by telephone +7 (916) 142-85-39, +7 (495) 987-19-15, fax: + (495) 987-19-14, e-mail: polikanov@pircenter.org
