Biography :

Chairman of the Cuban Atomic Energy Commission from 1980 to 1992. Educated in Russia and holds a Ph.D. in physics and mathematical sciences from the Kurchatov Atomic Energy Institute. In 1984-1993 was head of the department of physical sciences at the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
