Kashin, Vasily B.

PhD in Politics. Director of Center for Complex European and International Studies and Senior Research Fellow at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at the Higher School of Economics (HSE University). He graduated from the Institute for Asian and African Studies at the Moscow State University, in 1996, later worked in the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Vedomosti business newspaper, in the RIA Novosti news agency as Deputy Chief of Beijing office and as a Senior Research Fellow in Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST), a Moscow-based defense industry consultancy. He is a member of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the Valdai Discussion Club.
