Mikhail A. Medrish is one of the most authoritative figures in the Russian Internet community. He was involved in the creation of the first project for broadband Internet access in Russia and the country’s first IP television. From 1995 to 2000, he led the project “Internet” of Combellga, a traditional telecommunications operator. From 2001 to 2003, he worked as the Technical Director of MTU-Intel, leading the technical aspect of Russia’s first mass broadband Internet access project using ADSL technology (later known as Stream). Mikhail A. Medrish organized the first IP TV testing in Russia (later known as Stream-TV). From 2004 to 2005, he was the Deputy General Director of ROSNET. From 2006 to 2011, he was the Technical Director of Akado-Stolitsa, the Russia’s largest operator in the market of the B2C services for the Internet and cable digital television, with an audience of up to one million people. From 2001 to 2010 and from 2012 to the present, he has been a member of the Council of the Coordination Center for TLD. From 2013 to 2014, he was the Chairman of the Council. Mikhail A. Medrish took an active part in the development of Russia`s first Internet industry regulatory documents on data transmission and telematics services. He was one of the developers of the technical requirements for the System for Operational Investigative Activities (SORM). He is a member of the Council of Europe’s Committee of experts on cross-border flow of Internet traffic and Internet freedom.
