Born on June 18, 1962.
In 1985, Evgeny V. Miasnikov graduated from the Faculty of Aerophysics and Space Research of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), and in 1988, he completed postgraduate studies at MIPT. In 1989, he defended his PhD thesis, which was devoted to the problem of the informativeness of polarization measurements in the laser location of aqueous media. From 1988 to 1991, he worked at the NGO “Elas” and the SPC “OPTEX” in Zelenograd as an expert on remote sensing of the ocean. In 1997, he founded the START Internet project, a website, which he managed until May 2003. From 1992 to 2016, he was a leading researcher at the Center for the Study of Arms Control, Energy, and Ecology. Since 2011, he was the Director of the Center for the Study of Arms Control, Energy, and Ecology, and took an active part in the research projects of the Center. He is the author of numerous publications on the topical issues of strategic arms reduction. Currently, Evgeny V. Miasnikov is an independent expert.
