As part of the 1st International Security Forum, a roundtable discussion will be held on the crisis of strategic stability and ways to overcome it.
The discussion will feature:
- Mr. Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation;
- Dr. Dmitry Trenin, Member of PIR Center Executive Board; Research Professor at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University; Academic Supervisor of the Institute for Global Military Economics and Strategy, HSE University; Leading Researcher at the Section for Non-Proliferation and Arms Limitation of the Center for International Security, IMEMO RAS;
- Dr. Mikhail Margelov, Vice President of the Russian International Affairs Council and Member of PIR Center Advisory Board;
- Dr. Vladimir Orlov, PIR Center Founding Director and MGIMO University Professor;
as well as other leading Russian and international experts in the field of international security.
The centerpiece of the event will be the presentation of Volume II of the flagship Security Index Yearbook Global Edition 2026-2027 – more than 600 pages of analysis on the most pressing challenges and trends in global security.
Delegations from dozens of countries attending the Forum, along with members of the expert and diplomatic communities, will follow the three-hour discussion.
The working language of the event will be Russian. Simultaneous interpretation into English, Chinese, Spanish, and other languages will be provided.
Participation is strictly by invitation only, through invitations previously issued by the Forum organizers – the Office of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
Dr. Vladimir Orlov will serve as moderator of the roundtable and will also participate in the discussion as one of the speakers.
