High-level International Conference “Eurasian security: reality and prospects in a transforming world”

On October 26-27, 2023, Minsk, the Republic of Belarus, will host a High-level International Conference “Eurasian security: reality and prospects in a transforming world”.

The aim of the conference is to have a frank and inclusive discussion on the prospects for Eurasian security in the context of the existing world order crisis, chronic military and political contradictions between key global players and the almost complete lack of communication between them.

Dr. Vladimir Orlov, Founding Director of PIR Center, Professor at MGIMO University, will address a special session “Strategic stability and nuclear weapons: threats and opportunities for Eurasia in the new environment” in frames of which participants will discuss the deconstruction of treaty frameworks in the field of strategic stability and arms control and its significance for Eurasia; the relevance of past experience in the field of strategic and non-strategic arms limitation; Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones; minimum conditions for the resumption of negotiations, etc.
