

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan (2018-present). In 1993-1997, he was Minister-Counselor, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Thailand. In 1998-1999, he took the post of Deputy Director of the First Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry. In 1999-2002, he was Director of the Fourth CIS Department (South Caucasus) of the Ministry of Foreign Aff airs of Russia. In 2002-2008, he was working at Russian embassies and permanent missions abroad, including in 2002-2004 as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Slovakia, and in 2004-2008 as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). In 2008-2012, he was Deputy Minister of Foreign Aff airs of the Russian Federation. In 2012-2018, he was Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva and Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.
