Andrey Kortunov

PhD in History. PIR Center Advisory Board member (since 2003). Member of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). He completed internships at the Soviet embassies in London and Washington, and at the Permanent Delegation of the USSR to the UN. In 1982-1995, he held various positions in the Institute for US and Canadian Studies, including Deputy Director. He taught at universities around the world, including the University of California, Berkeley, USA. In addition, he led several public organizations involved in higher education, social sciences, and social development. He was Director General (from 2011 to 2023) and Academic Director (from 2023 to 2025) of RIAC. He is a member of expert and supervisory committees and boards of trustees of several Russian and international organizations. He is a contributor and columnist to Russian and international leading media outlets, including Izvsestia (Russia), Global Times (China) and others.
