Artem Astvatsaturov is an Editor at Information, Publications & Digital Communications Program. He joined PIR Center as an intern in November 2024. In 2025, he graduated from Southern Federal University with a BA in International Relations. His bachelor’s thesis was devoted to development of the hypersonic weapons as an instrument of deterrence under the presidency of Donald Trump and Joseph Biden. Before joining PIR Center, Artem Astvatsaturov held a position of Head of Department for International Affairs at the Russian Association of Youth Governments.
Winner of the Governor of the Rostov Region Scholarship for achievements in research and academic excellence in 2023/2024. Received a gratitude letter from Ms. Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs “Rosmolodyozh”.
Participated in numerous research events focused on the foreign and defense policies of the Russian Federation and North American states. Published works on arms control and the U.S.-Russia Strategic Stability Dialogue. Member of the Young Political Scholars Council of the Russian Association of Political Science. Russian Society “Znanie” Member since 2023.
Fluent in English and Chinese, currently studying French.
