Born on August 31, 1968.

From September 1985 to June 1990, Sergey Demin studied at the Faculty of International Journalism at MGIMO University and, in June 1990, graduated with a degree in International Journalism with proficiency in Japanese and English.

July 1990 – May 1998:

From July 1990, he worked as a junior editor in the Main Editorial Office for International Relations at the News Agency APN and as a correspondent within the International Department of Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

Later, Sergey Demin worked as a manager in the fishing industry in several Russian-Japanese (Inex JV) and Russian-American joint ventures (CJSC Poseidon, CJSC Pinnacle Mirinvest).

May 1998 – September 2002:

Worked at SIBIR ENERGY PLC (UK) and the Moscow Government.

From May 1998 to June 2000, Sergey Demin held the position of the Head of the Asset Management Department and Vice-President of OAO Evikhon Oil Company (Nefteyugansk, KhMAO). He was a member of the Board of Directors of Salym Petroleum Development (a JV between Evikhon and Royal Dutch Shell).

From July 2000 to January 2002, Sergey Demin was the Deputy Director-General of Yugraneftegaz (Khanty-Mansiysk) and a member of the Board of Directors of Sibneft-Yugra (a JV between Yugraneftegaz and Sibneft).

From February to September 2002, he also served as Director-General of OAO Moscow Oil Refinery. He concurrently held the position of Vice-President of OAO Moscow Oil Company under the Moscow Government from June 2000 to September 2002.

October 2002 – August 2011:

Sergey Demin was the Head of development companies working under the Moscow Government’s Interregional Cooperation Program. From October 2002 to September 2003, he was the Director-General of ZAO Stroiinvestregion (Moscow). From October 2003 to September 2008, Director-General of OAO ST Group Region (Moscow). From October 2008 to August 2011, Director-General of ZAO Snegiri Development, the flagship management company of the ST Group, which unified Moscow and regional projects.

November 2011 – February 2013:

Executive Director for Development at ZAO Sintez Group.

April 2013 – April 2014:

Director-General of LLC B2B Development.

January 2015 – present:

Member of ANO Rosatom International Network.

From November 2015 to February 2019, he was the Director-General of Rosatom East Asia (Beijing, China), being responsible for cooperation with China, Japan, and Mongolia. From February 2019 to January 2023, Director-General of the Rosatom Japan (Tokyo, Japan).

Currently, Regional Director of Rosatom International Network in East Asia.

Member of PIR Center Executive Board since 2024.
