Russian expert on Iran, research fellow at the Institute for International Studies and lecturer at the Department of Oriental Studies, MGIMO University. MBA student at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. He conducts applied analyses of Iran’s foreign and domestic policy for the Russian Foreign Ministry and other government bodies, consults Russian entrepreneurs on the business climate in Iran, trains the next generation of Iran experts, and is writing a dissertation on the history of the nuclear talks with Iran. Mr. Margoev served as c hief strategy officer at the MGIMO Institute for International Studies (2019-2022) and as director of the “Russia and Nuclear Nonproliferation” program at PIR Center (2017-2019). While studying international relations at MGIMO, he completed a short term Persian language studies program at the Allameh Tabataba’i University in Iran (2015) and studied in the United States for a year as part of the Dual Degree MA Program “Global Security, Nuclear Policy, and WMD Nonproliferation” (developed by MGIMO University, PIR Center and Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, USA) (2017). He completed the requirements for the second sports rank in rifle shooting (2014) and the third junior rank in gymnastics (2021). Besides that, he climbed the Damavand volcano in Iran (2022) and the Eastern peak of Mount Elbrus in Russia (2023).
