Born on November 13, 1968.

Russian Political Analyst. As an independent and well-known expert, Dr. Elena Suponina cooperates with a number of institutions and think tanks, such as PIR Center and the Russian International Affairs Council. From 2011 for more than ten years, Dr. Elena Suponina worked as an advisor to the director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (belonging to the administration of the President of Russia). She worked there as well as the Co-Founder and the Director of the Middle East and Asia Center.

Dr. Elena Suponina for 15 years was a member of the analytic media group belonging to the Kremlin and the Foreign Ministry, accompanying the Russian President and several Russian Foreign Ministers on official foreign visits and providing expertise and analysis. Dr. Elena Suponina has received International and Russian awards as the winner of competitions and for the best publications in the following areas: International Policy, Islam in Russia, Russian-Iraq cooperation, and International cooperation in oil and gas. She was also given an Award for Courage as a political analyst from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its president, ex-prime-minister Evgeny Primakov.

Dr. Elena Suponina has a PhD in Philosophy and Religion, focusing on global economic and political issues. As a doctor of science and political analyst, she published over a hundred research papers and thousands of newspaper and magazine articles. She provides analytics for various Russian and foreign outlets, TV channels, and radio stations.

Research interests: current international affairs and conflicts; new political trends and forecasts; common secure future; counterterrorism strategy; cooperation between Russia and other countries; international mediation; energy and food security; interfaith and culture dialogue; foreign and domestic policy.
