Vadim Kozyulin

PIR Center Consultant. Chief Researcher in the Institute of Contemporary International Studies, Russian Diplomatic Academy. He is also a Professor of the Academy of Military Science and a long-standing member of the Executive Board of PIR Center. He graduated from MGIMO University in 1990 and subsequently served with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR/Russia and Moscow News Agency. In 2000–2002, he completed the Management of Military-Technical Cooperation program at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy. Since 1994, he has been deeply engaged with PIR Center, serving in various capacities. Dr. Kozyulin’s areas of expertise include international security, arms control, Russia–NATO relations, Russia–U.S. strategic stability, military-technical cooperation, cyber security, illicit arms trafficking, Central Asia and Afghanistan, as well as emerging challenges related to new weapons systems and military applications of artificial intelligence. He is a Member of the Expert Council on International Humanitarian Law of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a participant in the Russian-American Dartmouth dialogue, a member of the International Panel on the Regulation of Autonomous Weapons Systems (IPRAW), and an expert with the UNIDIR Roundtable for AI, Security and Ethics (RAISE). Dr. Kozyulin is the author of more than 300 publications on international security, arms control, and global stability.
