№ 20 (78), 2025. PIR Center introduces a new section on the website “Postcards from our Alumni”

June 17, 2025

MOSCOW. JUNE 17, 2025. PIR PRESS. «PIR Alumni Community is one of our main values. We have recently counted: in 31 years since PIR Center’s foundation, more than 1023 people from 60 countries have graduated from our programs. We are always happy to hear from those members of PIR Alumni Community who want to send their news to us; and we share the successes with them. The initiative to collect photo and video postcards is another step in the dialog with our alumni», – Dr. Vladimir Orlov, Founding Director of PIR Center.

PIR Center announces the launch of a unique initiative to strengthen ties with its extensive international community. We encourage all our Alumni Community Members to send photo and video postcards, which will become a part of our unique visual history.

The goal of this project is to create a lively, geographically diverse collection that will visually demonstrate how and what our alumni and friends are doing now, what their new achievements and successes, joys, and news are.

“At PIR Center, we are always happy to hear news from our alumni and follow their achievements. We want to see them, not only to hear about their success. We are looking forward to receiving photo postcards from all members of the PIR Alumni Community, and have even made a special section on the website for this purpose. Share moments from your life – working, personal, from travels and places where you are currently realizing your knowledge. Every photo, every postcard is a valuable part of our common history,” Sviatoslav Arov, Executive Assistant to Director – Research Fellow, PIR Center.

PIR Center invites all PIR Alumni Community Members to send photo and video (no more than one minute) postcards. The letter should include your full name, and the place where the photo (or video) was taken and the date. We recommend that you indicate the year since you have been a member of PIR Alumni Community (usually it is the year of your graduation from our educational programs – International School on Global Security, internships, online courses, etc.). Additionally, write in your message (one or two sentences) what is new in your life? What new achievements have you made? What do you want to share with us? Or maybe you have written a poem, and want it to be read by all our Alumni, as, for example, Iakov Fedorov, a member of PIR Alumni Community, now the head of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy to Mexico, has done. Mr. Fedorov sent us his poem dedicated to Victory Day.

The received postcards will be presented on PIR Center website in a special section “Postcards from our Alumni”; the first pieces received have already been posted. Postcards should be sent to Sviatoslav Arov, Executive Assistant to Director – Research Fellow, PIR Center, via email: arov@pircenter.org. Sviatoslav is currently responsible for dealing with PIR Alumni Community. You might also send him messages if you, being a member of PIR Alumni Community, have noticed inaccuracies in your information on our website. Sviatoslav Arov, as well as other PIR Center colleagues, will also be contacting many of our Alumni in the coming months to clarify the information we have in order to update it on PIR Center website; your assistance would be appreciated.
