When we were analyzing this great novel within literature classes, my classmates bantered me a little bit. But the desire to serve the country only strengthened and I did not give up this idea”, – Iakov Fedorov, Head of the Consular Office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bolivia.
EDITORIAL: Over the years of its educational, project and research activities in the field of nonproliferation, disarmament, and global security, PIR Center has formed a diverse Russian-speaking international community. PIR Alumni Community is the main achievement of PIR Center, which is famous not only for its experts, but also for talented and unique graduates of its programs. One of them is Iakov Alexandrovich Fedorov, who took part in the internship program of PIR Center in the 2000s. Now Iakov Alexandrovich is a Russian diplomat. Head of the Consular Office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bolivia, to be more precise. In 2019, he participated in the development of cooperation agreements that were signed during the visit of Bolivian President Evo Morales to Moscow in July 2019 when his talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin took place. In addition to consular work, Iakov Alexandrovich Fedorov also oversees cooperation between Russia and Bolivia within the Ministries of Internal Affairs and law enforcement agencies. On August 3, 2021, Iakov Alexandrovich was awarded the Order of the National Police (Grado de Gran Oficial). Such a high award was presented to him by the Bolivian Police Commander Jhonny Aguilera. In his spare time, Iakov Alexandrovich writes poems imbued with love for his country and homesickness. Let’s get to know him better.
