Gen. Evgeny Buzhinskiy, Chairman of PIR Center Executive Board, participated at the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum

The 10th Xiangshan Forum occurred in Beijing from October 29 to October 31, 2023. Lieutenant-General (retired) Evgeny Buzhinskiy, Chairman of PIR Center Executive Board, Co-Chair of the Trialogue Club International, participated in the event as a member of the Russian delegation.

The Xiangshan Forum on international security issues has been taking place since 2006. This year, the 10th anniversary Forum was held under the motto Common security, Lasting Peace. Nearly 500 guests worldwide, including official delegations from more than 90 countries, attended the Forum this year.

Four plenary sessions, as well as many round tables and special sessions, both open and closed, were held on the margins of the Forum. The preliminary topic of the discussion was the transition from the balance of power to the balance of interests. Many issues were addressed during the discussions, from a detailed consideration of the situation in Asia to the talks on the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

“Therefore, roughly all the pain points of our days — the contemporary conflicts and topical security-related issues — have been reflected in the agenda”, — notes Lieutenant-General (retired) Evgeny Buzhinskiy.
