On April 30 PIR Center Celebrated Its Birthday

MOSCOW, MAY 18, 2021. PIR PRESS. «We celebrated our organization’s 27^th HapPIR Birthday. We sang our PIR anthem. Different generations of the PIR Alumni Community and our dear friends, many of whom have been with us for years, had a chance to communicate and share the fun. Thank you all for your warm congratulations and kind wishes. To all members joined PIR Alumni Community ‒ thank you for your contribution to our common cause», – Vladimir Orlov, PIR Center Director.

On April 30, the PIR Center celebrated its birthday. Exactly 27 years ago, an independent and unique non-profit organization specializing in nonproliferation, disarmament, and global security issues was established.

During these 27 years we have achieved a lot in the realm of research and education, and we have much to be proud of. More specifically, we are proud of our friendly PIR Alumni Community. Presently it includes:

• more than 1,000 alumni, including graduates of the PIR Center International School on Global Security, PIR Center training courses and internship program;
• 10 members of the PIR Center Executive Board;
• as well as PIR Center staff, current interns, and consultants.

At the same time, PIR Center highly appreciates its expert pool, represented by members of thePIR CenterAdvisory Board, the International Expert Group,and the Security Index Editorial Board, which are also an integral part of the PIR Alumni Community.

PIR Center Director Vladimir Orlov notes: “We rejoice in the vibrant, unique mix of the PIR Alumni Community. We are proud of those who stood at the origins of the PIR Center; and we thank all those who contribute to its development even now. A birthday is a great occasion to say a big thank you to all the people of the PIR Alumni Community!”.

And we keep on working! The situation in the world and in our country requires further headway. Onward we go!
