In 1995, Vladimir N. Rudakov graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of Moscow State Pedagogical University (MSPU). In 1998, he completed postgraduate studies at the Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1999, he defended his PhD thesis on “The Mangolo-Tatar Representation in the Ancient Russian Literature of the Middle of the XIII—XV Centuries: The Evolution of Ideas, Plots and Images”. Since 1995, he has been teaching history at the School № 1505. At the same time, he works in the Russian media. In 1996, Vladimir N. Rudakov was a correspondent of the newspaper “Moskovskie Novosti” (“Moscow News”). In 1999–2001, he was a parliamentary correspondent of the RBC news agency. Since 2001, he has been a political observer, and in 2009–2014, he served as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the “Profil” Journal. In 2007–2015, he worked as a commentator of the analytical program “Postscriptum” on the TV channel TV Centre. In 2014–2016, Vladimir N. Rudakov was a member of the Expert Council of the Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies. In 2016–2020, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Russian society “Znanie” (“Knowledge”). In 2017, he was a member of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the 1917 Revolution. Since 2015, Vladimir N. Rudakov has been the Editor-in-Chief of the “Istorik” (“Historian”) Journal. Author of several dozen scientific works on the history of medieval Russia and the history of ancient Russian literature.
