PIR Center Midweek Brainstorming Session on the topic “Taiwan’s Nuclear Potential and Regional Security Issues”

On June 2, 2022, PIR Center is organizing informal expert seminar – Midweek Brainstorming Session on the topic Taiwan’s Nuclear Potential and Regional Security Issues.

One of the key factors determining the security environment in the Asia-Pacific region is the relations between Taiwan and mainland China. Against the backdrop of the current military-political tensions in Europe, questions of the regional strategy of Beijing as well as Washington and its allies, as well as plans to strengthen Taiwan’s deterrence potential, are increasingly being raised. Considering past developments in nuclear program, the peculiarities of the international positions of Taiwan it is quite relevant to consider its nuclear potential.

This topic is to be explored on June 2, 2022,at PIR Center Midweek Brainstorming Session. The report on the topic Taiwan’s Nuclear Potential and Regional Security Issues will be delivered by Larisa S. Saveleva, PIR Center intern, MSc graduate, Swedish Defense University (Sweden).

The Midweek Brainstorming Session will be held from 17:00 to 18:30 (Moscow Time Zone, GMT +3) via Zoom platform (in the format of conference).

The working language of the event is Russian.
