Born on April 16, 1955.

After graduating from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Alexander V. Fedorov worked in institutions of the state apparatus, dealing with disarmament and WMD nonproliferation. Currently, he is actively engaged in scientific and practical activities in the field of international and information security and combating international terrorism. He is also involved in teaching activities. For 5 years, he taught the course “International Information Security” developed by him in the School of Governance and Politics of MGIMO University. Today, Alexander V. Fedorov is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Security of the Faculty of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Control Systems of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, where he teaches his own course “Political Foundations of Information Security”. He has state and departmental awards. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Working Group on International Information Security and Global Internet Governance of the PIR Center Advisory Board.

From 2001 to 2023 Alexander V. Fedorov was PIR Center Advisory Board Member. Since 2023 he holds the position of PIR Center Executive Board Member.
