Doctor of Politics. Professor of Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Russia at MGIMO University. In 1983-1984, he worked in Cuba. He was an intern at universities at Barranquilla (Colombia, 1986), Florida International (Miami, 1990), Brasilia (1993-1995). From 1998 to 2016, he was the Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences, working part-time as a Professor at the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Russia at MGIMO University. Author of more than 100 articles and ten monographs on global security policy and foreign policy of Latin American states, Russian-Latin American relations and the history of Russian emigration in Latin America.
