Born on July 29, 1955.

In 1981, Bruno Russi earned a Master`s degree at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. In 1981–1985, he worked as English Teacher at Commercial College Lenzburg, Switzerland. In 1985–1995, he worked in Security Policy Analysis in the Ministry of Defence. In 1995–1996, he took part in the 10th International Training Course in Security Policy (ITC) at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Switzerland. Bruno Russi served as Deputy Defence Attaché in Kyiv for Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Bulgaria (1996–2000), Head of Defence Attaché Service in the Swiss General Staff (2000–2008), Roving Defence Attaché for Central Asia for Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan (2009–2010), Defence Attaché in New Delhi for India, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Thailand (2011–2014), Defence Attaché in Moscow for the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan (2014–2020). In October 2020, he retired with honors from Military Service. Bruno Russi is the participant of various training courses and conferences in Security Policy abroad.
