Born on June 21, 1953, in Moscow. Before 2011 – Director of Department of European Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. In 1975, he graduated from Moscow State University. Since 1989, he works in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, occupying different diplomatic posts in Russia and abroad. In 2000–2002, he was the Minister Counsellor in the Russian Embassy in Poland. In 2002–2005, Vladimir I. Voronkov worked as Deputy Director of Personnel Department (MFA, Russia). In 2005–2008, he performed duties of Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation in OSCE. PIR Center Advisory Board member since 2009. 10/22
