Yesterday, on April 27, 2026, the 11th NPT Review Conference started in New York. Ahead of this event, the Trialogue Club International held its spring session (the 129th since the Club’s founding in 1993) on the topic “Is There a Future for Arms Control and the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation Regime? A View from Russia”.
Dr. Vladimir Orlov, Founding Director of PIR Center, Founding President of the Trialogue Club International, delivered opening remarks and and outlined the latest news and future plans of the Club and PIR Center.

“In 2026, the structure of the Trialogue Club has significantly expanded. It is now open to members of the PIR Alumni Community, and on special conditions (which you can ask the secretary of the Club, Eseniia Kosulina via e-mail secretary@trialogue-club.ru)”, – shared the president of the Club.
Mr. Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, delivered the keynote speech.

Following the keynote remarks, a traditional Q&A session ensued. The discussion with Mr. Sergey Ryabkov was moderated by Gen-Leut. (ret.) Evgeny Buzhinskiy, Co-Chair of the Trialogue Club International, Chairman of PIR Center Executive Board, as well as Irina Klimenkova and Ilya Subbotin, 1st year Master’s students of the International Security Program (MGIMO University & PIR Center).


As always, the meeting of the Trialogue Club International was under Chatham House rules.
The session was attended by the ambassadors of Ecuador and Denmark, Brazil and Ethiopia, the Republic of Korea and Mozambique, senior diplomats, businessmen, experts and young professionals from 24 countries, namely Russia, Egypt, Rwanda, Australia, Great Britain, Finland, France, Israel, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, New Zealand, Japan, the USA, the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Moscow, the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation in Moscow, and others.


New members of the Club from the PIR Alumni Community and special guests of the Club President shared their impressions on the results of the session. His Excellency Mr. Juan Fernando Holguin Flores, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador to the Russian Federation, expresses his sincere gratitude to Dr. Vladimir Orlov for the kind invitation to the session: “I would like to thank you for the excellent organization of the event, as well as for the highly interesting and insightful presentation delivered by Mr. Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.”
