On June 10, a meeting of PIR Alumni Community members took place within the framework of the XXII International School on Global Security. It was held in the already traditional format of MASLIN-FEST. School graduates, experts and invited guests had a great time together: in an informal atmosphere, they shared their common memories, discussed achievements and plans for the future, and also honored the memory of Colonel General (ret.) Evgeny P. Maslin, who was an outstanding statesman, reliable colleague, comrade and friend of PIR Center, a bright and talented person.
The event was attended by students and instructors of the XXII International School on Global Security, as well as members of PIR Center Advisory Board, PIR Center Executive Board and PIR Center Education & Training Program alumni. Among them were PhD applicant at MGIMO University Mitiya Ishii, former employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Malov, Leading Specialist of the Skolkovo Foundation Sergey Mursankov, correspondent of the International Affairs journal Evgeniy Pedanov, columnist of the International Affairs journal Andrey Torin, Research Fellow at the Institute for International Studies of MGIMO University Alexander Chekov, TASS correspondent Anna Livia Esteves. The event was also attended by Ekaterina Maslina, Colonel of the Internal Service, Deputy Head of the Research Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Alevtina Vilkova, philanthropist, entrepreneur and friend of PIR Center Vladimir Ryzhov. The meeting was moderated by Elena Karnaukhova, Deputy Director – Education and Training Program Director.
Vasily Lata, a special guest of the event, Lieutenant-General (ret.), Doctor of Military Sciences, Full Member of the Academy of Military Sciences, Senior Research Fellow at the Academy of Strategic Missile Forces, Professor of the Missile Forces and Artillery Department of the Military Academy of the General Staff, PIR Center Consultant, addressed the PIR Alumni Community members. In his speech, Vasily Lata touched upon the issues of global security, shared warm memories associated with Evgeny P. Maslin, and gave parting words to the graduates of the XXII International School on Global Security.

I think that only by joint efforts can we successfully solve the problems that exist today,” — said Vasily Lata.
Ekaterina Maslina, daughter of Evgeny P. Maslin, also spoke with words of gratitude and wishes for further prosperity to PIR Center and its graduates.
Dr. Vladimir Orlov, Academic Director of the XXII International School on Global Security, Founding Director of PIR Center, presented diplomatic poems (poems by Maximilian Voloshin) as one of the parts of the MASLIN-FEST. Leonid Tsukanov, Editor-in-Chief of the PIR Center website, an expert of the Russian International Affairs Council, presented poems of his own composition, achieving a great success among the audience.
Milosava Cerovich, XX International School on Global Security graduate, now a postgraduate student at MGIMO University, originally from Montenegro, sang the Serbian folk song Veseli se kuchni domachina. The musical evening ended with a performance by Vadim Kozyulin, PIR Center Executive Board Member, PIR Center Consultant, Head of the Center for Global Studies & International Organizations of the Institute for Contemporary International Studies of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, who delighted the audience with his guitar playing.
As a result of the meeting, the III PIR Center Charity Auction took place, at which unique PIR Center publications of different years, books and journals autographed by the authors were raffled off. In particular:

According to the tradition, the evening ended with the performance of the PIR Center anthem and informal communication of the guests in the format of a buffet.
The meeting of PIR Alumni Community members was held bright, lively, with enthusiasm and joy shared by each of us. We are looking forward to new such warm and sincere meetings!
