№ 6 (16), 2025. «Iran’s nuclear infrastructure has not been damaged seriously»: Brief Interview with Adlan Margoev by Dr. Vladimir Orlov, PIR Center Founding Director

June 13, 2025

Exclusive Interview

On the night of June 13, the Israeli military began launching “pre-emptive” strikes against Iran’s nuclear and military facilities. Dr. Vladimir Orlov, Founding Director of PIR Center, has conducted an interview with Mr. Adlan Margoev, Research Fellow at the Institute for International Studies, MGIMO University; PIR Alumni Community Member, who is currently in Iran.

Dr. Vladimir Orlov: Adlan, how do you reckon the Israeli strikes will affect the development of Iran’s nuclear program: is it eliminated, or suppressed, or set back? And if it is set back, how far?

Iran’s nuclear infrastructure has not been damaged seriously. The only question is who now expects Tehran to make concessions in a situation where Iran still has opportunity both to respond militarily and to switch its nuclear program to military use, but has so little room for maneuver for saving its image.
