In recent years, the growing geopolitical weight and subjectivity of sub-Saharan Africa has become apparent. The countries of the region demonstrate their interest in expanding cooperation with Russia on a wide range of issues related to international security, and also declare their intention to gradually expand the dialogue in the field of high technologies.
In turn, this determines the relevance of the project “Prospects for Cooperation between Russia and Sub-Saharan Africa on Global Security and High Technologies“.
The key task of this project is to summarize and update approaches to the development of cooperation between Russia and the states of Sub-Saharan Africa at the interstate level and in the format of a business dialogue in various segments of the high-tech sphere (international information security, energy, biotechnology, etc.).
In addition, an important part of the project will be the preparation of scientific materials (articles, reviews) and their further publication in leading journals. This work will make a positive contribution to the development of methodological approaches to the study of regional political trends, as well as eliminate a number of existing gaps in the research field.
One of the key results of the project will be the preparation of a course of additional professional education, designed for both international specialists and representatives of the technical and technological industry.
This project is being developed in context of the implementation of the joint educational project of PIR Center and MGIMO University “Global Security, Strategic Stability and Arms Control” as part of the “Priority 2030” Strategic Academic Leadership Program.
