PhD in History. Academic Director of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). He completed internships at the Soviet embassies in London and Washington, and at the Permanent Delegation of the USSR to the UN. In 1982-1995, he held various positions in the Institute for US and Canadian Studies, including Deputy Director. He taught at universities around the world, including the University of California, Berkeley, USA. In addition, he led several public organizations involved in higher education, social sciences, and social development. From 2011 to 2023, he was Director General of RIAC. He is a member of expert and supervisory committees and boards of trustees of several Russian and international organizations. He is a contributor and columnist to Russian and international leading media outlets, including Izvsestia (Russia), Global Times (China) and others. Member of PIR Center Advisory Board.
